Percy Jackson and the Olympians · Ages 9-11 ·  $320   

What happens when the Greek Gods come after you?     Join Percy Jackson in an adventure of epic proportions as he tries to solve the mystery of the Lightening Thief. Students will create their own play using improvisation, character development, and theater games. Unravel an adventure more powerful than the gods themselves!

 

Twilight  · Ages 12-15 ·   $320

Every girl dreams about her soul mate but what happens when he turns out to be a vampire?  Bite into this adventure and create your own unique story line for Edward and Bella.  You will learn how to develop characters and add special effects and stage combat.  Theatre games and improvisation will help you bring your script to life!

Which wizard do you want to be?  You will create a play based on Harry Potter books. Students will learn character development, storytelling, script writing through improvisations, interactive science experiments, theatre games, acting and

directing. Come to Platform 9¾ for a wizarding tale of a time!                                                      

 

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time · Ages 12-15  · $320

Do you love the video game? Then why not join the adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world.  Save your own kingdom by participating in scriptwriting, character development through improvisation, theatre games and more!

Love Bugs Bunny? How about Sponge Bob Square pants?  Colossal fun awaits you as you jump into the adventures of your favorite cartoon characters.  Even create a cool mask to take home! Cartoons are the basis for creative movement and story development.  Imaginative, confidence building and Super Fun!     

 

Crack up Comedy  ·  Ages 9 & up  ·

Jokes, Belly Laughs, sketches and more! Develop your comedic timing and build confidence. Join in the fun with theatre games, improvisation and scene work.

What’s all the commotion about?  It’s an exciting creative drama experience. Get to clapping, tapping, and stomping as you act out stories and poetry with rhythm.  Play with scarves and instruments!  Imagination and confidence building happens here!

Come join Woody and Buzz Lightyear and the entire army of toys as they try to escape from the trials of life in a daycare!  Creative storytelling, costumes and props all create this wild adventure into the unknown!

Learn to be positive, trust your instincts and take big chances!  Come join us as we learn to think on our feet.All you need is a willingness to loosen up and have fun! Improve your acting and social skills through improv!

Visit Kingdoms filled with princesses, paupers, princes, knights and dragons!  Let your imagination soar as you act out stories from other lands. Befuddled Fairy Tales · Ages 6-8 ·

What happens when your favorite fairy tale get turned upside down! Using ideas from The Princess and the Frog, Shrek to your imagination create a new twist on a classic then you can confuse and delight the audience with the befuddled tale you perform!               

                                                                                    

Lights, Camera, Action! ·Ages 9 and up ·

Do you want to learn how to act for the camera?  Come and learn the basics of on camera acting through commercials and scenes from television shows and film.  Be ready to hit your mark and light up the screen!  Instead of a recital you will receive a DVD of your class work!

Start spreading the news…Broadway Kids is back! Learn the basics of musical theatre through singing, dancing, and acting Broadway Songs!  Children will learn proper breathing and vocal support, simple choreography and basic acting techniques.

Come and discover the World of Seuss.  Cat in the Hat, Horton the elephant and the rest of the clan join with you for your very own performance of the Greatest Show on Earth.  Students will learn creative movement, expression, verbalization and pantomime.

Star Summerstars Bound 2010

 

Comprehensive Musical Theatre Camp for Ages 9-11 · June 21-July 9, 2010 ·  Cost: $ 395

 

SummerStars Bound is a three-week comprehensive Musical Theatre program for children experienced in acting. Taught by professional directors, the program encompasses many aspects of theatrical production focusing on audition techniques, acting, singing, and dancing. This program concludes with performances of Aladdin, Jr, a musical production staged and performed entirely by participants for family, friends, and the public. Rehearsals are M-F 9:30-4:30pm and Shows run July 6-8th- Tuesday &Wednesday 10am, 1pm and Thursday 10am, 1pm, and 7pm.

 If you are looking for an intensive theatre training program, we’ll see you at CATS this summer!

BigStar Summerstars 2010

Comprehensive Musical Theatre Camp for Teens Entering Grades 7-12
July 10-24, 2010

SummerStars is a two-week comprehensive residential and commuter program for gifted and talented teens. Taught by professional actors, directors, choreographers, and musicians, the program encompasses many aspects of theatrical production focusing on acting, singing, and dancing. This program concludes with a full musical production of Seussical, the Musical, staged and performed entirely by participants for family, friends, and the public on the final Saturday. Mornings of the program find the students rotating among classes in acting styles, techniques, music, and movement. Afternoons are devoted to rehearsals, set building, costuming, and choreography. Amid all the daily activity, the students will find time to attend a professional production at one of the prestigious venues in the Fort-Worth /Dallas area. The Session opens and closes with a party. If you are looking for an intense theatre environment, consider CATS this summer!
