Creative Arts Theatre and School (CATS) Announces
the Retirement of a Legend

The CATS Board of Directors announces the retirement of Founder and Artistic Director, Kathey Ward, who leaves that role having led the organization for 32 years. Through times of plenty and times of want, Kathey has tenaciously pursued her dream of bringing performing arts training and live family-oriented theatrical productions to young people and their families. Over the years, thousands of "Momma Kat" students have been privileged to call her teacher, and many have built successful careers upon the theatrical training that Kathey provided. Board President, Eric Gentry, reflected on the lifetime contributions Kathey made to CATS, pledging, "We will continue to honor Kathey's vision and rededicate ourselves to creating new and exciting opportunities for the next generation of CATS students."

The CATS Board of Directors has added new members, bringing new vitality to the organization. New teachers are coming on board, bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm. New classes are being offered, and tuition has been adjusted to further accommodate families with children taking multiple classes. The Board is actively looking for new leadership to help CATS continue to reach the Tarrant County arts community and continue the Dream that Kathey has instilled in all of us.  A newly formed parents' group, led by Shannon Parrish, has also been formed to help support the renewed CATS vision. We appreciate all of our supporters, and encourage you to reach out to us by phone (817-861-2287), email, our Facebook page, or the CATS Cause.
