2009 Summer Camp Registration Continues

Register now for an exciting collection of summer camps at CATS. CATS is offering all levels of performing arts camps, including acting, singing, and dancing, this summer! For intensive theatre training, be sure to check out Summerstars Bound, presenting Dear Edwina Jr, for 9-11yr olds, and Summerstars, for teens, presenting Disney’s High School MusicalClasses begin June 15 and run in 1-week and 2-week camps through August 14, both half-day and full-day classes.

SUMMERSTARS BOUND 2009

Comprehensive Musical Theatre Camp for Ages 9-11
June 22-July 9, 2009 • Cost: $ 395

SummerStars Bound is a three-week comprehensive Musical Theatre program for children experienced in acting. Taught by professional directors, the program encompasses many aspects of theatrical production focusing on audition techniques, acting, singing, and dancing. This program concludes with performances of Dear Edwina, Jr, a musical production staged and performed entirely by participants for family, friends, and the public. Rehearsals are M-F 9:30-4:30pm and Shows run July 7-9th Tuesday & Wednesday 10am, 1pm and Thursday 10am, 1pm, and 7pm.

SUMMERSTARS 2009

Comprehensive Musical Theatre Camp for Ages 12-18

July 11-25, 2009

SummerStars is a two-week comprehensive residential and commuter program for gifted and talented teens in grades 7 - 12. Taught by professional actors, directors, choreographers, and musicians, the program encompasses many aspects of theatrical production focusing on acting, singing, and dancing. This program concludes with a full musical production, High School Musical, staged and performed entirely by participants for family, friends, and the public on the final Saturday. Mornings of the program find the students rotating Among classes in acting styles, techniques, music, and movement. Afternoons are devoted to rehearsals, set building, costuming, and choreography. Amid all the daily activity, the students will find time to attend a professional production at one of the prestigious venues in the Fort-Worth /Dallas area. Lisa Dalton, Master Chekhov Teacher, and Wil Kilroy, Professor of Theater at University of Southern Maine, introduce you to advanced acting techniques that USE YOUR IMAGINATION to create exciting, vibrant and dynamic characters for any part you may play. Once you know these techniques, you have unlimited opportunities to be the characters you've dreamed of playing.
